Card for Mom

I am going to visit my family…. Had to make a card for my mom!

I used a digi stamp from artist Ruth Davis. Sorry, I don't know which web site it came from. I printed the digi on Stampin' Up Whisper White cardstock and used colored pencils to color the cute house. The patterned paper is Graphics 45 BotanicaBella. I saw a sentiment I really liked somewhere? Could I find it again? NO! So I made my own, 'Home is where your mom is' with the computer for a sentiment on the inside. It doesn't matter how old I am, I always feel like I am in grade school when I give Mom something I've made. AND she still gushes over everything I make. Aren't we silly!

 

 

Have a Wicked Halloween for October's CCC

Here is the card I sent out for the October Card Chain Challenge at The Society of Stampaholics.This was my first time using pencil colors and Gamsol. It was interesting AND I need lots of practice. This adorable digital stamp is the Spooky Witch Toodle from Broken Box Stock. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Wicked Cool Stamp set. Miscellaneous unknown papers from my gigantic stash. You can't tell in the photos but the lil' witch is glammed up with some Clear Star from a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. 

I forgot to take a photo of the envelope. It's lined with the same green striped paper as the card.
I'll have another Halloween card tomorrow.

Thank You to the Firemen of Station 2

Our  students made a flag out of a bed sheet and hand prints which we presented to the fire station right down the street on September 11th. The firemen gave us a tour of the firehouse, truck, equipment, even showed how the come down the pole.  One fireman dressed in full gear and the students got to touch him and talk to him while in his gear (learning not to be afraid of a firefighter in in full gear in an emergency situation). The students all had a chance to sit in the cab of the firetruck. The firemen were very generous with their patience and kindness. The firemen hung our flag before we left. We even had our photo in the newspaper.  The students had a blast!!

Hot Air Balloon Card

I really have to work at getting sentiment stamps straight! I didn't notice until I was taking photos just how crooked it was.

All of the solid color card stock is from Stampin' Up, except for the yellow which was a scrap from my stash.
The patterned paper is from the 7gypsies Venice 6x6 paper pack.
The balloon is from Cricut's Victorian Romance.
The sun and clod are from Lettering Delights Balloon Craze.
The sentiment is from Gina K.'s Petals and Wings stamp kit.

April Birthday Card Swap (Splitcoaststampers)

I finished my cards for the April Birthday Card Swap a couple of weeks ago but I didn't want to post them here until we had received our swap. The swap was a 3+1. That means that you make 3 to swap and one for the hostess. The hostess is the person the swappers mail their cards to and she divides them up and mails them out to the swappers. It's loads of fun to see other peoples ideas and products that are used. I had two spots in the swap so I made 4 of one card and 4 of another. Check out my cards and let me know what you think!
