Two Cards and a Token of Appreciation

Card for my youngest son. He has a BIG dog and I'm sure he'll like this card:

I need another card or two (imagine that...I forgot to send a card to someone!). Of course I did not have the supplies to recreate the card I sent to everyone else!

Ali from the Farmer's Market (has jewelery, bags made from recycled materials, scarves, gloves, and a few other things) has cute bags that she puts purchased items in. I made her a dress card using the leopard print bag (bad photo but here is a link to the card: http://ohforpaperssake.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-dress.html). Since then she has given me bags several times to use as I wished. Below is a lotion holder I made for her with one of the bags she gave me recently. I also covered the lotion with the paper from the bag.

If you are interested in anything I used or how to make the lotion holder, email me at ohforpaperssake@yahoo.com .

Shower Invitation

My friend Sue is throwing a bridal/wedding shower for one of her nieces. The gift theme is Holidays or Seasonal. Sue is very creative and green...just plain crafty! She uses lots of things she just happens to have or my leftovers from other projects or unused crafty supplies. This is her invitation the shower:

The cute little graphics Sue had on the inside of her card would not copy into Blogger and I only had it in a MSWord document...below is the inside without them.

Can you believe I haven’t started my Christmas cards yet! Time just seems to disappear. I am glad I signed up for the Card Chain Challenge at Society of Stampaholics (http://dominodebi.typepad.com/sos/). It made me think about getting busy and making my Christmas cards. I do have a plan for my Christmas cards. It’s one I’ve already made for a swap last summer. You can see it here: http://ohforpaperssake.blogspot.com/2012/06/card-swap-part-two.html

Wicked Witch of the East and the West!

The digi stamp I used comes from Bugaboo Digi Stamps and is the Stella Witch. Again I am using up my Halloween stash of papers with no names.

Have a Wicked Halloween for October's CCC

Here is the card I sent out for the October Card Chain Challenge at The Society of Stampaholics. This was my first time using pencil colors and Gamsol. It was interesting AND I need lots of practice. This adorable digital stamp is the Spooky Witch Toodle from Broken Box Stock. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Wicked Cool Stamp set. Miscellaneous unknown papers from my gigantic stash. You can't tell in the photos but the lil' witch is glammed up with some Clear Star from a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen.

I forgot to take a photo of the envelope. It's lined with the same green striped paper as the card.
I'll have another Halloween card tomorrow.

Please click on the link above to check out all or some of the card makers honoring our military men and women.
I am in the process of putting together a box of cards to be sent to Operation Write Home. OWH in turn sends boxes of these cards to our Heroes serving in other countries to use to write home to their families. It is a cause close to my heart because one of my sons, a niece, a nephew, one of my brothers, and uncle and a great uncle all have served in our country's military.
Happy Blog Hopping!

OWH asked us to make a winter or Christmas card.
I had some lighting issues--- the Midnight Muse looks almost black to me.

Thank You to the Firemen of Station 2

Our  students made a flag out of a bed sheet and hand prints which we presented to the fire station right down the street on September 11th. The firemen gave us a tour of the firehouse, truck, equipment, even showed how the come down the pole.  One fireman dressed in full gear and the students got to touch him and talk to him while in his gear (learning not to be afraid of a firefighter in in full gear in an emergency situation). The students all had a chance to sit in the cab of the firetruck. The firemen were very generous with their patience and kindness. The firemen hung our flag before we left. We even had our photo in the newspaper.  The students had a blast!!

Our flag.

Thank you card the students will sign. Thank you Lisa for the firetruck cutting file! If you would like the cutting file go to: www.quillingpatch.com

The DRESS!

I know everyone is making dress cards, but I couldn't help myself. They are so adorable! The following two links are for two different templates (I have used both).
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/templates-f143/dress-template-t148547.html
and
http://images.splitcoaststampers.com/data/gallery/500/2011/07/05/Dress-pattern_by_JaneCS.jpg
The link below has a video with instructions and a template to print (I did not use these)
http://www.stampacademy.com/free_videos/pattern-dress-card/

The animal print is from a bag from something I purchased at a boutique booth at South Bend Farmer's Market.

When cutting the template piece for the skirt, use temporary adhesive so that you can leave the template in place to see the fold lines. When folding start on either side of the skirt with a valley fold, next a mountain, and repeat both one more time. Go to the other side of the skirt and repeat that process. Adhere the skirt to the card base first. For the top of the dress (bodice for the sewers) adhere the bottom section however you like. To add dimension to the bodice use foam tape in the chest area. Add tiny pearls or other bling for buttons and a belt of ribbon tied in a bow. I had soo much fun making these cards! It was hard to stop.

This is my favorite.

Somehow, I lost a couple of bows.

Card Back

I cut this card with my Gazelle die cutter using SVG Cut's Edisto Island Cards SVG Kit's Oak Manor Step Card. http://svgcuts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=253 I like SVG Cuts files, with many of them there is a video with some instructions and tip/hints to help with cutting and assembling the projects.

All papers are Stampin' Up.
The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up's Petite Pairs.

Card Inside

I made a template for the hills. After adhering the back hill layer I used Walnut Stain and Peeled paint Ranger Distress Inks to ink the tree stamp. Versa Fine onyx black ink was used for the sentiment. The remaining hill layers were adhered with foam squares. The leaves on the inside of the card were cut with Cuttlebug Leaf Dies.
Papers were all from my stash.

The patterned paper is from the 7gypsies Venice 6x6 paper pack.
The balloon is from Cricut's Victorian Romance.
